As I Once Was Poem by Shelley Cornelius Phillips

As I Once Was

Calling all the great healers and great prophets
Make me as I once was
Banish fear from our minds and our hearts
I am fighting for a just cause
True fame and fortune are worth just a penny
But I must carry my weight to show so many
I am worth my weight in Gold
Therefor it is a shame for me to grow old
Give me the chance to grow up once again
I'll use every moment wisely without causing pain
Make me like the green shoots of grass
And find me once more a beautiful lass
I will never leave her like I once did before
I will make my life worthwhile to give her more
So let me close my eyes and dream
That we are all working together as team
My hands will bring what my heart desires
I will want to be called gentle of all misers
My love has to grow in great measures
For it is love which has to grow than great treasures
