As Hot As Ice Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

As Hot As Ice

Dew, Sun and rain
All join to rhyme
A sense of odors
As sweet as grapevine
Souls muse and amuse
While being with twine
As the power of love
Inspires all to shine
So is the power within
Of the succulent grape
Nourishing with tears of wine
Called port and sherry
And as hot as ice
Causes every heart to be merry
Mind whirled and dizzy
And senses me not carry
Let my feet be sensible
Keeping me in place of glory
Lest my movement and my language reel
With the wine of you, grapevine
And jerk against passersby, wall and grill.
As short-lived and doomed are souls
And what will happen tomorrow, no one knows
Man wishes to be lost in wine sometimes
As he knows the magical spell of this anodyne
With her he forgets fear and worries
And with life he makes merry
And leaves all else in the hands of destiny...........
