As For Me And My House Poem by Bruce Johnson

As For Me And My House

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord;
It is he who has right to the throne.
So we'll cast down our idols and serve them no more;
We will worship the Lord God alone.

We are broken and weak,
yet your kingdom we seek;
By your mercy, Lord, keep our hearts true.
Earthly pleasures and cares
can so quickly ensnare,
So please answer our prayer- our hope is in you.

Mighty God, make us bold,
let our hearts not grow cold,
Let your wonders be told all our days;
Till our children have heard
and their hearts have been stirred;
Till they trust in your Word and walk in your ways.

And let this be our song:
Though the foe may be strong,
Still 'The battle belongs to the Lord.'
We will finish the race
by the pow'r of your grace;
We will look on your face- our joy and reward!
