Artists Who Quarrel Poem by gershon hepner

Artists Who Quarrel

“Claudius Civilis
should be more frivolous, ”
Amsterdam elders,
masterpiece gelders,
told Rembrandt. He gutted
the painting, and cut it
in pieces. The moral
is artists who quarrel
with Philistines cannot
survive on this planet:
they must pay the ransom
demanded of Samson.
