Artist Colors The Extreme Poem by Rick Elpers

Artist Colors The Extreme

To be immersed within
The spectrum of emotion
Calls to me the color of sadness
Traditionally Blue
Now swimming in the deep end
Drowning with breath exhaling
No chance of air
Dead Gray
I'm exhausted being in need
Of her affections
With no way to know of them
Blood Red
Trying to float above
With weighted heart
Sinks me deeper
Indigo Black
If a broken heart
Could actually kill me
Then I could rest
Jaundice Yellow
But my constitution
Carries me down stream
Ever closer to my watery grave
Pure white
