Aroma Of Soil Poem by Geetha Jayakumar

Aroma Of Soil

Rating: 5.0

Having a tea in an earthen pot is
Really amazing
Each sip of tea speaks of
aroma of the soil.

The potter may have to
Sieve the fine mud to make a pot
A tiny stone while making pots
Can damage it fully.

Aroma of soil is so captivating
That it will allure us to it.

There would be no one who has
Not tasted the aroma of wet soil.

How can one forget the aroma of soil...
At the end, our body will lie deep down it.
Like a small baby sleeping in mumma's lap!

How can I forget the aroma of soil...

After the first rain, we get the smell of the newly drenched Earth and it is so refreshing! It is believed that snakes are very fond of that smell and they come out from the hollows to eat the mud! So elders often warn not to walk in the twilight of the evening after first rains! A good poem, Geetha! !
