Armaments Which Affect The Health Of A Husband!
The one, woman, who stands before the husband
Making him extremely angry by words and deeds
Is similar to ‘Yama’ (God of death) !
The one, woman, who is not entering
Into the kitchen in the early morning,
To prepare food for the bread earning husband
Is like a deadly disease to her husband!
The one, woman, who eats herself alone
Whatever she cooked without serving to
Her husband is a living demon in the home!
These three attitudes of a woman
Are the armaments which affect the health
Of her husband and may lead to his death!

It happened recently in Bangalore,
The wordy quarrel between husband and wife!
(May be wife provoked)
Both are IT professionals!
Mentally disturbed Husband
Stabbed and killed his wife,
Jumped from 13th floor,
Ended his life too!

A woman definitely has to be a good wife and a loving mother, but men should first accept her as an individual! In her blind devotion to her husband and children, she shouldn't sideline everything else. This Tamil poem I guess must have been written at a time when men were the sole bread winners of the family. Now life style has changed with new challenges and greater responsibilities on women! Still it is the woman's love and patience that should hold the family together... there is no doubt about it! A great translation Sir.
Dear Prof, I am replying after more than 2 years. I recently saw in one of my relative's house. The husband had a fall and fracture lower jaw for which metal plate was fixed and both jaws were tied so that fracture should heal. The food had to be taken as liquid. For some silly reason the wife could not go out on a sunday evening quarreled like a demon with her husband in high pitch!
