Arizona Poem by Della Hodgson James

Arizona

Rating: 5.0

Oh, Arizona! I hear you calling me.
You make me happy, as happy as can be.
There's entertainment in your valley
Recreation in your hills
There's misty music in your voice
You are every-thing that thrills.
Oh, Arizona! You are where I long to be
Oh, Arizona! I can't resist your plea,
Oh, Arizona! There's health
Neath your sunny skies,
Oh, Arizona! You've wealth
For them that tries,
I've read of all your wonderous lore
I've found it all so true, and more,
Of what your Authors said before.

Oh, Arizona! I'm just the least of those
Oh, Arizona! To sing your praises, please.
I like these skies so blue
I like the sunshine, too,
The breezes that always blow
The people, big hearted and true.

Oh, Arizona! I just like you so.
I like the beatitude, its restful mood
I like its mountains, its deserts all,
I like its streams it's true
Its lakes of toriquoise blue
Way down between deep canyon walls.

Oh, Arizona! I'm sure in love with you
Oh, Arizona! Why can't you like me too?
There's heaven in your skies so fair
There's lovely roses everywhere!
You are everything one could desire,
Oh, Arizona! I'm coming back today.
