Areven Poem by G J Salgado

She was closest with the dead
Though she couldn't see them
She knew they were always there
Always watching, lingering
They longed to be a part of her
But to her they were only a mirage
Trapped in her dreams in time
Between space where they could no longer exist
To them she was alive and real
They spoke to her and she heard not only their voices but their souls
She knew that they also once existed within her world
Every day they longed for her, waiting for their life to begin
Without her, they were much too weak to move
Their spirits trapped beyond what she couldn't see
Only a glimpse of Venus before sunrise in the early part of April
She was the spirit that moved them far beyond what they were
Bringing them back to life, she watched them as they began to come alive
Exactly four years previous, like Venus passing directly behind the sun
She was always born to be a part of their world, for she slipped through the cracks from the other side
Like the brightest planet, lost in the sunrise
She was a mistake, an anomaly of no other kind
Born from within herself of both worlds
A phenomenon within her own time of a place no one had ever known
Near to impossible she was the one to emerge from what no one else could
They were closest to her and she had became a part of everything that they were
Perhaps she was born from their dreams
She needed them to be alive
She was their only mistake, yet their own success
There was no one else in the world like her
She became alive within who they could never be
They were her whenever they chose to dream and walk in the light of souls that have passed
She walked through the light to be within their darkness
It was from that darkness that she lived
Because of them she was real
And they were real to her
Together they both became a part of each others reality
Though their time was limited, they yearned to change human history
From being free to roam between realms of what was a dream and what was real
She was closest to them within her dreams
And they were closest to her when she was near the wrath of the undead
