Rating: 2.5

Well Prof. Higgins, I’ll like to bring you up to date
Mention of a woman need no longer get you into a state.
You’ll be surprised things have changed
Since Pygmalion was first staged.

No longer a woman’s anxious little hand
Is just waiting to wear a wedding band.
She has far too many interests
Other than her dresses and gloves.

A woman needs as much space
As you rightly said, even if just to laze.
By the way, when she call her friends
They just don’t talk of cars and gizmos to no end.

It’s no longer true that women can’t go out alone
And always need to be chaperoned.
Women too will rather have their tooth drilled
Than live with a man who is utterly selfish.

Get a man in your life and his idea of relaxation
Is just to sit in front of TV and serf channels
Men always cursed women for their bad timing
Even when she is being operated for medical emergency.

Hence, women too hesitate to let a man in their lives
And lead a life free of strife
Why can’t a man be like a woman?
Kind, patient and full of compassion.

Eliza rightly said, earth will still spin without you
No one is indispensable is really true.
Pickering too asked you, are you a man of character
Where women are concerned? Please give an honest answer.

Let’s face it; you too succumbed to her charm and grace
Don’t be fooled it was because you got accustomed to her face.
The battle of the sexes will go on
We still take the plunge, its more than just hormones

Pygmalion is A Play written by Bernard Shaw on which the movie
My Fair Lady was based.

Great poem. Professor Higgins would have to listen today. He would learn that the girls are not just waiting around to be picked. They are doing the picking and culling out the bad eggs. Pick a good one. They are out there.
