Are You Even Looking? Poem by Viola Grey

Are You Even Looking?

Rating: 4.4

Do I really have to leave a light on for you,
are you not clever enough to find your way
after another long night.
And what do you mean you can't read my mind
it's clearly labelled in this perspex box
covered with years of clouded dreams.
You said you were a seeker of lies,
a hunter of dreams,
but you have failed to see my smile
hidden from you.

well done, looking and seeing are two different kinds of action, seeing is a basic act of the senses where as looking can be accomplished only with concentration of the mind, thus in is English for the senses, we use the present simple case and for comprehension the present continuous case, intense poem 10

A very clever worded verse this one Viola - I like the inferences, and the flow is somewhat reminiscent of slower, discovered complexities in life.... this is really a very good piece...... keep up the writing...... bestest from Fay.

Voila your ability to transform ordinary into exceptional and then arranging it into the tousled etui of a poem consumes all possible expression that sets forth praising it “And what do you mean you can't read my mind” an expression that lives in many a seasoning to get its indomitable flavor “it’s clearly labeled in this Perspex box” as if mumbling; twist opening a drawer for a sloppy husband, a drawer that has been this way since 1949. This is a timeless piece and I’d be so glad if I could read it in a book proudly stating by Viola Grey
