What are they about?
Not having?
Not being able to buy?
Hunger?
Sleeping on the street?
Saying ‘no’ to those one loves?
Critical medications not afforded?
Children without bread?


Are there poems for the dead?
Going through the garbage cans
And remembering
How I once looked with slight contempt
On those who did so?

Are their poems for the poor?
The dead?
