Aqua Sky Unsettled Poem by Frankie Renae

Aqua Sky Unsettled

I dropped her heart on the sidewalk
walked around the block to pick it up
but it was gone
and when I looked again
I saw her standing there in everything she was before
so, I know I can give her pain for mine
but I can never break her

Chorus:
there are days ya gotta work to pick up the pieces
and there are treats that sieze us
so long's matte pink bags can hold shimmering green is
then let sunshine be a confetti
that lifts as it drops
as it falls
as it drifts sideways on air
currents that sift despair
and hydraulics can cure your soul
with their rules on emotion
take this and settle your own notions

she's an aqua sky
that painted itself this morning
without the help of last night
or the need for tomorrow
there are days that live free
and beauty drops subtly in
caus she doesn't need me
but I need her

Chorus

caus she doesn't need me
but I need her
she doesn't know me
but I need her face
to give me inspiration
to make the world an easier place
and it's people that pick it up
and hand it back
mend it and fill the scratch
that stir sugar in my days
tea always sweeter with a little cane
peppermint to make it all go down
take it for what it is
and spin it around to you
till you have what you want
caus that's what I do

Chorus
