~~~~~~~~~~. April 21.~~~~~~~~~~ Poem by Susan Williams
~~~~~~~~~~. April 21.~~~~~~~~~~

.
........Tomorrow my husband and I
will not be celebrating our wedding anniversary.
Not in any conventional sense anyway.
But today we just walked into each others arms
and held onto each other while we cried...
the world has turned dark and scary under our feet
and our souls and hearts are on their knees
but we have each other to cling to
and that may be the best gift
that years of marriage can bring.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
.........Today we ask again for your prayers
winging their way to heaven's throne
for our youngest daughter Tammy,
we need the heavenly power and strength
of those prayer chains forming again,
link by link, prayer by prayer, petition by petition.

Know i have already wished you both a Happy 50th Anniversary - but i am doing it again! What you have written here pretty much sums up my husband and i as well. As this world continues to get darker - and our hearts and souls are at our knees as well - we are blessed to have one another - - the best gift of our 50 years as well, dear Susan; and of course you already know that i have been doing a novena for Tammy along with regular prayer. The regular praying for her will never cease as long as there is breath in me. So Bless your 50 years together and God Bless your sweet Tammy! ! ! ! The Divine Physician has got this one, Susan!

This is a beautiful expression of marital love! Storms may threaten to capsize the boat of life....! Tragic occurrences may tear our hearts apart! Disease and illness may take away our sleep, but the thought that there is a shoulder to lean on and share the sorrows and joys of life together is the greatest consolation one can ever have.....! May both of you grow stronger and happier in each other's company!

Such beauty, such wonderous beauty is found in the arms of gentle love, from earth and from above.

I like thinking of a prayer as a chain. How can transitory, finite beings orient themselves towards the infinite? Each prayerful hour is a step toward a steady, sustaining connection. Heaven reveals itself in the impulse toward taking that next step.
