Applied Reason Poem by olivia helmes

Applied Reason

In this world ever growing violent
Is it suicide to be born at all?
Where it’s not when where or who is going to die
Its how
Is the reason most babies cry after their born because they’ve found the reality of where they came to
And the reason some remain silent because they are the ones accepting their fate
In an age where love is most often seen as a physical dance of bodies intertwined
Other than a connection between two people as a whole
Is their any hope at all
In this time where peace is a distant afterthought
And where countries children grow up to become the days next carnage of war
Is there any love left to spread
In a world being self destructed by its creators own creations
Is there any need to ask why?
For every action there is an equal just as great
In creation god gave us minds to think and ask why
For every destroyer there is a builder
For every peace seeker there is a warrior
God knew laid the rules down to be found; though not easy to find
While we corrupt his paradise he is waiting for his rules to be applied
The scales never fall all the way they just come close to the edge
he just sits there watching as another child falls off the worlds ledge
