Apple Tree Poem by DePen Chang

Apple Tree

Apple delivers the color of love
If it’s green and tender
Like the first time I saw your unfamiliarity and shyness
If it is crisp and crimson
Like the flushing on your face while I cling to

Apple hides the taste of love
If it is sour
As the empty feeling when you are gone
If it is sweet
Like my heart’s content of your tight embrace

The apple cannot bear to be eaten
Fear its drought and rot
Intend to retain the seeds
Planting in the hill top
How many apple trees will be sprouted?

Girls ripen in the dream of apple trees
Men’s fortitude is guarded in the apple trees
Women's ageing is expected in the apple trees
They all remember the colors of love
They will recall the taste of apple
