Apologies Poem by Amy

Apologies

Rating: 2.7

Ok, well, I’m sorry for wasting your time
Yeah, that’s right, every minute I spent trying to grab your attention,
our walks home,
our meals spent...
sorry- you probably would have preferred to spend them with her,
even though you promised we’d be together forever.... I guess a few years is nothing in comparison to a lifetime, an eternity.
I’m sorry for all those texts I sent, the hundreds of X’s that,
Slowly but gradually
fell to none

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXX
XXX

X
.
Time and money, not well spent if you ask me...
even if they did cause a smile to creep across my face.
I’m sorry for confiding in you, for trusting you, for believing that you would want to do everything in your power to make me happy
I bet she found that hilarious when you told her- ha!

Sorry for trying to include you,
they all told me that you were a jerk
They tried to warn me
I guess “Love” just doesn’t see imperfection
but when it went, oh it all became clear
Sorry that I borrowed your things, take them back,
that way, I have nothing to remember you by, and nothing to owe you
Those CD’s, those films, our memories,
I don’t want them anymore
Finally, I’m sorry for loving you
that I thought you loved me too- my mistake
So I think that is all I’ve ever taken from you
And will ever
So if you can just give me back my pride, dignity and trust back
then I’ll be on my way
I’ll owe you nothing, nor you will in return
We can just get on with the rest of our lives
Without one another
