Apathetic As I Sit And Wait Poem by Randy Briggs

Apathetic As I Sit And Wait

Click, click, click, fingers
eagerly typing on the keyboard.
Eyes moving around erratically,
trying to find a steady piece of
eye candy or just waiting for something
to happen-
Perhaps a robbery, maybe a murder,
who knows.
What is boredom?
If it exists I do not know but i know
how to escape with these eyes.
Her eyes catch my gaze, hold the stare
Don't look away! My god, no not my God,
I am God.
Winters cold creeps in through the glass.
Cars roll by these people,
Who are these people who are doing
absolutely nothing but being caught up
in endless chatter!
My mind is scattered.
My god. No not again.
I am God.
God.
God.
God.
God.
Who's god?
Whose god?
I don't care,
Don't talk to me.
Let me rot in my own head.
Let me die in my own loneliness.
Let me be me and worry about me.
