Anywhere Poem by Alex Marano

Anywhere

Rating: 2.7

So you speak again, like an unseen voice
Calling to me
I have every intention to run
Out of this prison I look, out into
the world you see, the world you ask me to change

Dreams they overtake me, but I can't seem to take a breath
I close my eyes and say this prayer
Telling you that

I wanna be, anywhere anywhere but here
Take me please, tumbling down to a world I've dreamed
Set me free, from all of these, invisible chains
That hold me down to this

Standing at the shore, staring out against
The great wide open, there's so much more than believed
You hold out your hand and reach for me
But I'm holding everything I've known all of these years
