Antisocial Martyr Poem by Kevin Patrick

Antisocial Martyr

Rating: 5.0

You have to learn to love
all the people you hate
Otherwise they'll just win
And you'll end up in the bin
The lesson is not to chew down
the bone with hot blooded simmering
But to patiently wait it out
with casual indifference
acting Nonplused and nonchalant
when what you really want to do
is gas everyone in the room
and build a funeral pyre
With all the preachers from the choir
But patience is the reward of character
and a testament to suffering
For the antisocial martyr
Has nothing left to barter

I'm born to fail
But I'll live to always try

Wisdom flows in these lines But patience is the reward of character and a testament to suffering. I said something similar to this because this theme reminds me of one of my poems. Where I said I will inject myself with patience so I can deal with all these patients. The worlds sick and if we don't have the patience to try and understand and help others get to the roots of their suffering how do we ever expect to help the world and society heal if only in small doses? Truth is we really don't have to love anyone we can hate everyone as well as ourselves but it really does no good. So what's the point in hate? All it does is fuel our anger that we try to carry around like a chip on ones shoulder so we have an excuse to shun the world for being the way it is only to realize we can't really hate it like we want because were doing nothing but contributing to the problem that we hate and it's with hate that we do it. So the lesson here is learn to love or it's time to check out cause if your not a part of the solution you are only part of the problem and this world has enough problems. I really like this poem!

Great food for thought Kevin, I love how your pen always pour out beauty and truth. Yes, yes yes we need to love instead of hate, you describe so well those moments of seeing the fails of our spoiled society when the mind goes: my gosh how can I live like this, ahh poor our world, but given time the heart will come up with its optimism and hopes. And slowly we see colors and hear music and hate or violent thought find no more space...
