Antidisestablishmentarianism

Rating: 5.0

You say it is debatable
and I say it is moot;
you say 'Discharge thou that weapon'
and I say 'Oh, just shoot! '

You like your polychromatic automobiles
but I like simple cars;
you meditate the universe
while I just look at stars.

You say it has veracity
and I say it is true.
Why go polysyllabic
when a small word will do?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was first published in October 2014. It was one of my first poems published on this site. I deactivated it (temporarily, I thought)but when I went to reactivate it, I was unable to do it. so I was forced to resubmit it. I still have several other poems that need to likewise be resubmitted.
