Anticipation Poem by Debra Miller

Anticipation

From within the depth of your eyes,
pools of longing emerge.
Breathless,
words failing,
lips part to small talk,
safe ground restored.
Yearning,
destiny's approval sought,
I lose myself.
Safely in the circle of your embrace
I find release.
Your voice echoes
beckoning me, come;
my heart sings in anticipation
long since forgotten.
