Another Zone Poem by Elia Michael

Another Zone

There is another zone
Where you and I exist
It’s not really well known
But it’s there I insist

The world of reflection
You enter it prepared
And you see perfection
Unprepared, well be scared!

At times it surprises
That’s not me you may say
This mirror disguises
For that’s not me, no way!

I see me old and fat
I’m not that in my mind
I’m anything but that -
Mirror, you are unkind!

Show me a kinder truth
Why don’t you reflect me
As I was in my youth?
That’s how I want to be!
