Another Voyage Poem by Ajit Das

Another Voyage

Rating: 5.0

Peaks, and still higher peaks
towering into the immense blue
beckon us as ever
from the height of their majestic splendour.

The glaring sun, the tender moon,
grave stars and icy, razing storm
chisel, sharpen the human urge
to surge ahead breaking all barriers.

We set out on our journey
through gardens and deserts of life;
but small gains, petty losses,
ballasts of transient love, corrosive hates
shape our destiny, drag us down,
blindfolding vision beyond the border.

Yet the spirit is unbound, indefatigable,
still willing to embark on another voyage.

I absolutely agree with the philosophy, so well expressed you begin with the natural beauty and then bring the scene to one of the reality.petty losses and corrosive hate. Wonderful wording, corrosive has left many people mentally crippled and they never recover yet your insight shows that you have a balance, the reverence for nature is not eclipsed by the pains and sorrow of life instead you close with the wisdom and uplifting message that more people need to at least try and embrace. The spirit is unbound, indefatigable, still willing to embark on another voyage.............splendid! 10
