! ! ! Anino Ng Kandilang Naupos

Halik sa kandila
ng malamlam na dilaw na apoy
sabay ng usal ng panalangin
‘di mawari…
pasasalamat ba
o pag-alala
sa anino ng pagmamahal
na namaalam na.

Nagdarasal ka ba?
sa blangkong mukha di makapa
liwanag ba ng kandila
ay iyong nakita?
o dili kaya’y
anino nito’y naparam na?

Kinagawian o nakagawian man
salamat pa rin naman
samyo ng nasusunog na kandila
hatid nama’y ligaya.

Kandila man ay maupos
hipan man ng aninong naggigipuspos
Salamat pa rin….
sa paghatid ng di mawaring dalangin!

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.
