Animal Lives Poem by Eric Cockrell

Animal Lives

Rating: 2.0

i howl at night.
like a wolf trapped
in a small room.

staring through
the window.
calling on the
moon goddess

for deliverance.

sometimes i build webs
in the darkness like a spider.
waiting to catch you
in a hungry moment.

or i sit motionless
in the darkness
like a cat.
eyes aglow with primal
passion.

i come stampeding
into dawn like a
rogue elephant.
tramping and trashing
the last vestiges

of lonliness!
