Angels’ Descent From Grace Poem by Marck Riggins

Angels’ Descent From Grace

Angel removed from first estate:
Nephilim's doom congregates;
Redemption pours toward chasm

If one so fair should buy my life,
To hand my heart, cut by my knife;
I tread this plane, phantasm

Your dominion is fanned pennon:
Gray pluming all consuming;
My lust, your fuel for unholy spasm

On watch, angels spied men's daughters
To have them whole and taint waters
Reserved solely for human genes

But I, a man who knows demon:
In masquerade the Shade of Dreaming
Empowers to charge my will for means

From whence comes the unfit child
Vagabond in nomad style
Ranging world haunts unseen

Are these not our children born?
Roving deviant paths, forlorn
Fly damnations’ wings on nether-fray

Gravitating incantations
Set on morn for early nations;
Winged dawning darkened days

Angel chides heaven’s will
Dare cross domains, refrains instilled
Toxic notes that gloat self-praise

Recites in flight from yonder badlands
Immersed night in hyped glad-hands
Out-kilter for irreverent play

Great renowned, this hunter’s bastion
Chronicled bold, subtle traps set…
Tribal Tower inspired ungodly phase

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a chronicle in tercets, encapsulating the Biblical concept of Fallen Angels (Demons: It is an embellishment to add wings.) Only in Revelation,4: 8 are heavenly beings represented as having wings: not anything like Human form, having six wings. Angels, when not in their glorified state, are indistinguishable from humans… (You really don’t want to meet any Demons.)
In Genesis 6: 1-5 is the introduction to the ‘fallen ones’ who were the hybrid race called Nephilim, born of rebel angels (demons) and human genetics. This tryst gave rise to giants and the ensuing judgment of the worldwide flood. The offspring survivors may be what we refer to as Yeti, Bigfoot, etc. My story is poetic, but not entirely accurate…
