Angels Poem by Roxanne Dubarry

Angels

Oh! Heavenly angels watch over me while I sleep,
while, 'The Lord my soul does keep. And if I should
die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.'

Angels watch over me during the day,
and fold their hands and wings
while they pray.

Whenever I am composing Christian, or
inspirational poetry,
they read it aloud
along with me.

Whenever I praise the Lord Jesus Christ
in joyful worshipful songs;
the heavenly chorus
sings along with me in
perfect harmony.

And (in closing) whenever my life on
earth is over and done; the
angel will escort me into the
presence of Jesus Christ, God's
only begotten Son!

Whole new chapters in my
eternal life, have, 'only
just begun.'

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I believe the Holy Spirit instructed me to write a poem about angels,
and their roles in my life. While typing this poem on Poem Hunter,
I made corrections in my original poem. I added extra words to my phrases. I have done that before. Because, sometimes words or phrases come to mind that I did not use in the orginal drafts.

The quote, 'only just begun, ' was taken from one of the songs
written by the former brother and sister team, Karen and Richard
Carpentor. The song's title was, 'We've only just begun.' They were
one of the contemporary singing duets that was popular with my family.
