Angel’s Home Coming Poem by Katherine Graven

Angel’s Home Coming

Rating: 5.0

Baby Angel falling into the arms of parental love
Sent by the Holy Father from Heaven above
Painful wings unfolding searching for a soft place to land
Bring into existence my precious little man

I remember watching and feeling your movement from within
Waiting patiently for my baby Angel to joyfully descend
Now I see God’s Heavenly Angel fighting for more time
As his tiny frail body moves upon these callused hands of mine

I see my child struggling for every tiny breath
While Doctors and Nurses run in to do more test
All the while praying with tears in my eyes
God please allow my little man to stay alive

For everyone is praying and sending their love
Reassuring me to trust in God and not to ever give up
For God is answering all my son’s prayers
Taking great lengths to show He is here

Tiny fingers, tiny toes growing each day
Everyone counting every ounce as time slowly slips away
A precious gift of undeniable love from the Father above
This perfect child, which was entrusted for us to love

My finger, your firm grasp, is tightly holding
As I watch the strength in your tiny broken wings unfolding
Telling me… Daddy,
You worry too much about me
Reassuring me… Daddy,
I’m ok and I’m holding my own
And soon you and Mommy will be carrying me home
