Angel Mia Poem by Christal Carpenter

Angel Mia

I'm still here
looking for a time to heal

I'm not gone,
even though it's all going wrong

I dig my nails deep into the African plain
grit my teeth when I feel the pain

digging for my hopes and dreams
disappeared before they could be seen

listened to the clouds that cry
for the stars that fell out of the sky

I'm still here
looking or a time to heal

I'm not gone
even though all is going wrong

never been this low before
like I'm miles from a distant shore

with no will to swim in me
the bottom to far to see

you reach out with a hand
pick me up and help me stand

brush me off then let me go
who you are I don't even know

I'm still here
looking or a time to heal

I'm not gone
even though all is going wrong

I know I will never feel the same
as the day my angel came

to find some one with such hope and love
must be sent from heaven above

I listen to the leaves that stir
wonder which way my life will turn

waiting for your open hand
to lead me away from that sinking sand

I know you have a secret way
of saying this is the path you need to stay

I'm still here
looking for a time to heal

I'm not gone
even though all is going wrong

I try and catch my breath as it goes
feel the light from my head to my toes

and now I understand
it's my job now to take your hand

help you into this world
that you have now been hurled

take my hand, my heart, my soul
take my reason to not be whole

come give it a whirl
for you are my baby girl
