And You Fade Poem by Maura Hunt

And You Fade

Your mausoleum is your home now,
where you're sheltered form all evil,
but your life does not prevail here
here in the lifeless dream made real.

You stay hidden here in this room
never to awake to the sounds of their cries
though they cry so loud you arn't able to hear them.
You're lifeless bone.

You've melted away luke cold winter's snow.
and you're no loger a lying corpse.
your mangled body has disintigrated
along with the softness of the Earth.

Your eyes were turned over and were gray inside ther socets,
but they are no longer.
your heart lies in what remains of your chest,
but the love inside it died along with you.
