The Elder
spoke to the gathering,
They came to listen and learn
about the First People
He said, 'This is Our Way'
in stories and songs
Ancient Wisdom
is passed down from
generation to generation
Everything in nature
mountains, trees, rocks, animals
the sun and thunder
all have spirit
We are thankful to the Creator
for mother earth
The value of the land
is not based on a monetary system
We honor our ancestors and
have the desire that our
beliefs, traditions, language
homeland are respected and treated
with dignity
