An Unborn Daughter's Plea Poem by Sameer Ahsan

An Unborn Daughter's Plea

Father, oh, dear father
I'm your daughter,
Do I need to say father?
You brought up my two brothers
At me, why you are changed father?

Is that; I'm a girl?
What is my mistake father
Offer me, my life rather,
And please allow me to live,
Don't force my mother to grieve.
Over my unnatural death please,

What my brothers could do
I too can do father,
I will stand by you in adversities
It's my word: trust father,
Don't let my dreams to shatter,
Please father, Oh dear father.

Break the wall of discrimination
I'm God's special creation,
Goddesses took incarnation in me
Saraswati, Durga and Lakshmi,
I am as clean and pristine,
Let me step into this world; to grow and shine,
Listen to my plead father, oh dear father.

I want to cling with mother's breast
And taste the milk of her love,
I want to feel your fatherly affection
And see the world outside the dark womb
Before that don't kill me father, oh dear father,
As I'm your daughter
Your loving daughter.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It is a light burn for the morons involved in female infanticide in India and even the world across more or less. If a child could speak before she is killed, she would speak these words that I have given a shape of poem.

Female infanticide is an evil practice still prevalent in South Asia, Our beloved prophet stopped female infanticide 1400 hundred years ago, gave them the right in property and many other kinds of right which was not prevalent in those days, A poem with a good message, thanks for sharing :)
