An Open Mind Poem by Barbara Vanier

An Open Mind

Rating: 5.0

You ask me for an open mind
But there is a beast inside you see
You ask me for an open mind
You know not what lurks in me

The door opens, it's claws reach out
It grips you so, you react to shout
Your scream deafens it's ears to tears
Release so well, crawls back to hell

Cloak of fear, now you hear
I don't care, I won't share
Banner reads 'All for me'
None for you, still bleeding blue?

You can't see, no eyes to bleed
This stain on me, you can't wash clean
Hold me over so dross will cover
This silver bowl which hold my soul

You ask me for an open mind
But there's a slide that hides inside
You ask me for an open mind
This world of darkness in which we die
