An Older Sister Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

An Older Sister

Rating: 4.5

You will always be older
Than your younger brother
For years you towered over
Leading… you did not hover

You shouted and dragged him back
When he ran towards the street
When playing a game of cards
You scolded him if he tried to cheat

As you approached your teens
You set an example and showed
How it is to study and succeed
Traveling upon an unexplored road

Now you are pursuing a career at college
He is free to make choices on his own
He knows the importance of gaining knowledge
With your example, he has also grown
