An Old Couple From Kagoshima, Japan Poem by Elena Sandu

An Old Couple From Kagoshima, Japan

If you sit well
And patience have,
One true story
Please, let me tell:
In Kagoshima, Japan
A little place in East,
One lovely couple
Let us meet.
100 years old is he
But she, just 96.
At 4 am, he is awake
Will cook the breakfast
Tamago yaki,
that means rolled egg.
A little later when she's up,
They'll eat toghether.
Then: sanpo(walk) time comes..
Bit far, in front,
'Fast' walking (lol)
With a cane, is he
Slow after, pushing
A walking chair, comes she
Every few steps
He turns around..
Sure she's fine,
Gladly continues
His 'fast ' line.
They come to stop
At one bridge
Most beautful spot!
Facing the flowing river
So lively, happily count
moving arms, shoulders
heads, warming every joint.
Wow! ! Now,
seem to be much younger!
Smiling, would take~ same way
- back home
To spend another day
Of happy carring for each other.
They love each other very much you see?
70 years seems too much,
Forever, for some people
To live toghether,
not for this couple although
They live those days in harmony
Each night they go to sleep
Praying for the well being of the other.

Now: here's my say:
-Husbands and wives!
If want to live together
as long and nice as them,
then, love and treat the other
Well.

The story of this sweet couple from Kagoshima is so inspiring at a time of instant break ups and divorces. I enjoyed reading it! !

So beautiful, this poem is very romantic. As Madame Edith Piaf once said: 'Dans la vie y a qu’une morale / Qu’on soit riche ou sans un sou / Sans amour on n’est rien de tout, Sans amour on n’est rien de tout.' We are truly nothing without love, you've written this so well with this poem.
