An Ode To Maggie Poem by Cynthia Fielding

An Ode To Maggie

Ed Miliband couldn't hold a candle to Maggie.

Maggie was a working class girl, not a multimillionaire.

Maggie came from nothing,
she wasn't an appointed special adviser
like Miliband
who was given everything he wanted.

Thatcher had to fight
to get elected in a time
when women were shunned and ignored.

Maggie always went the extra mile
to see the UK got value for money
and would even pay for things she needed
out of her own pocket.

Maggie is immortal.

Her spirit and principles will live on forever
as the benchmark against which all politicians
should aspire to serve their country as magnificently as her.

Margaret Thatcher,
the greatest Prime Minister of all time.
