An Interview With Adolph Poem by Donal Mahoney

An Interview With Adolph

How are things, Adolph?
This is Brian, from NBC.
Thanks for the interview.
It will air in September
if the network brings me back.
I’ll be gone six months
but you’ve been gone 70 years.
What’s new?

Adolph salutes and says,
Hotter than Hell down here
and not a drop to drink.
My mustache went up
in flames the first day.
My soldiers now
shout “Hell! ” not “Heil! '
Osama and I talk about

what went wrong.
He’s been busy telling
the new guys from ISIS
this ain’t paradise so
quit looking for virgins.
He expects an entourage
from Boko Haram any day.
Oy vey, what a surprise!
