An Indian Skill Poem by Samanyan Lakshminarayanan

An Indian Skill

Rating: 5.0

on the street
a small girl is walking on a rope
with a stick in her hand to balance
with a pot on her head which she has to balance
her mother or the lady with her...
plays the drummy music on a plate
her father or the caretaker manages the show
a catchy site for the children and foreigners too
a skill which encashes right on the street

This is a cheap street circus, which is better than begging in the street for a livelihood. A good theme exists in this poem.

That's really a sad sight, , , , , , , I don't like circus tooo, just for the same reason, , , , I don't see skill there....i see the desperate struggle for survival paradoxically putting their life on the line. Hope their conditions improve...

Yes indeed Samanyan..this is a disturbing but routine sight in India...kids working to feed the family. Nicely told

A disturbing picture you have drawn of a needy family business. Perhaps I hope one day there will be no need. 10 Bob
