An Imaginary Wall Poem by Udaya R. Tennakoon

An Imaginary Wall

You stray dog! !
You stray dog! !
From the other side
Of the wall
Dripped a noise

A ceaseless bray
Without a counter bark
You dog! !
You dog! !
You stray dog! !

Something wrong
A fire
A burst in a chaos
A crying sound
A kid was in it randomly

He who is called dog
Stays silent
Or is gone
Or one who is called dog
May be the kid

After I was called
I called to my self
Stray dog!
I stray dog! !

Touching the wall
Stray dog! ! !
No one listen
No one care
The wall recalls me ironically
