An Ideal Family (1) Poem by U Win Kyi

An Ideal Family (1)

Father is a diligent worker.
He is the sole bread-earner.
He always sets a good example.
He is a man of good principles.
He loves his family very tender.
To smoking, drinking and gambling he says'No, never.'

Mother is a good housewife.
dedicated to her family, her whole life,
Cooking, washing, cleaning day and night.
She never regards parenting very slight.
She knows her children's future depends not on throwing a dice.
For bodily growth she feeds them balanced food of rice.
For spiritual growth she teaches them precepts of 'Five '.

On school day, the children do homework.
On holiday, they help do housework.
Boys help father in the garden.
Girls help mother in the kitchen.
A good meal they all share.
A good story and a funny joke they all tell.

The children never let their parents down.
In their behaviour, no trace of rudeness is found.
Among children, no evidence of sibling rivalry,
no quarrel, no fighting and no jealousy.
They always say ' Father And Mother, I Love You.' heartily,
whose initials are formed into a word...FAMILY.

(Five precepts are no killing, no stealing, no sex promiscuity, no lie, no alcohol)
