An der Hecke - U żywopłotu (Polish Translation)

Wenn Blätter Ferne fühlen,
Reift der Hecke
Hagebuttengrab –

Der Schlehe Sterben,
Wenn des Friedhofs
Lichter mahnen –

Tod der Straße
Für stille Igel,
Wenn Laub verdorrt.

U żywopłotu
(Polish Translation)

Gdy liście czują dal
Dojrzewa z głogu
Grób dla żywopłotu –

Umieranie tarniny,
Gdy napominają
Światełka cmentarza –

Śmierć ulicy
Dla cichych jeży,
Gdy usychają liście

Poem of the Day

poet Charles Stuart Calverley

He stood, a worn-out City clerk —
