An Apprehension! Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

An Apprehension!

Rating: 5.0

A peace at the cost of national pride, if one boasts about
will that be a peace of dignity in real sense?
If one opts to overcome hostility by giving in to enemy,
will that be rated as a triumphant achievement?

If the ruler of a country sees howls of jackals as a threat
to the sovereignty of a long stood nation of pomposity
what better use of such a deplorable leader
for a prestigious nation with a heritage, than being a scarecrow?

If a leader censures values in what has been won
at the expense of precious flesh, blood and lives
of sons and daughters of the nation
what better wins can one expect of him?

If one sees crocodiles in the cup of tea, being served
merely because it was prepared using the water
drawn from a croc inhabited pool
what has wisdom to do with politics?

Politics has nothing to do with wisdom, I believe. Just look at those ruling our governments now, can you see any wisdom in what they are doing? Here in the U.S., they do nothing for the people only try to make us slaves to their greed, taking what we have worked an entire lifetime to gain and giving it to illegals and criminals who do nothing but make our world an abominable mess! No, politicians have no use of wisdom they use only their egos. People with wisdom are what is needed in our governments, that is what helps to make a great nation. Great poem with a lot of value within it's words. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn

A leader is the one who leads others and should be endowed with qualities of courage and wisdom! In the name of peace, he shouldn't stoop before his enemy! He should never bow before insolent might! The qualities of a national leader are powerfully put! A sure 10
