An Apology From Me - Africa Poem by Noorie Ali

An Apology From Me - Africa

An apology from me -
The sun rises and I wake up to a brand new dawn
The day carry’s itself forward,
Me and the others we veer off on either side
I am lacking material I cry,
While I live a materialistic life
I thrive, Bloom like a flower
On a heaven so high above
That rank I was raised up on, still I fall on
Controversy, i have fallen still immobilized.
Weeping for not a reason I have tribe, and the wealth
Beneath my feet, oh fourth world I bleed now I realize how I clout
You in the back bone, you rest motionless numb, starved, powerless.
Many night u drown in sleep, trying to fall off mountains deviously
Steep.
You be laying in a coma of responsibility
On your shoulder lumbered on you
You beg, steal and conceive a life of a mirage, unreal to your eyes.
Mothers, father’s children whine.
Blameless, to the fault.
While i live in luxury, so much energy.
Choices, upon choices I fluster my mind with two heads I’m shameless.
I give poverty like it’s a burden on me, I’m sorry
I’ve been so greedy and selfishly needy to me, I apologize
I breath a second in ease while you breath a thousand tons, a day
Working, in extreme blades. Your skin it cuts you always, whishing for a better life.
You are a gem to me, I only take and do not give.
Again I’m sorry one day I hope you hold that heart that will forgive me.
