An Angel Poem by Jeri Martindale

An Angel

Trying to take me away to the heavens above, an angel held onto my hand as we flew across the land of 1,000 lakes as the sun shined down; who painted this beautiful canvas? Flying high with my guardian angel.

In the lakes I see only my reflection, holding my arms out, I feel no connection, except an angel flies beside me so glorious and majestic looking down upon skies and heavens; perfection.

So gracefully she soars holding my hand trying to take me away to heaven, gazing upon the lakes below smiling at my reflection. Her eyes twinkled as she looked into mine, such innocent beauty guiding me through the skies.

The sunlight beamed down on me as I laid on the luscious green. In the clouds now she’s looking down on me, watching over me. Trying to take me away to the heavens, she holds my hand again, still no reflection, only a twinkling light above; I still feel her presence although she goes unseen.

An ecstasy, flying through the skies, the heavens, showing me how to live free no connections; allowing that powerful feeling to escape, and so I open up my eyes still gazing at the beautiful canvas of an angel flying over lakes with no reflection; she took me away into the heavens, perfection.
