An Album From My Memory Store Poem by David Harris

An Album From My Memory Store

Rating: 5.0

Today I dipped into an album
from my memory store
as a place that seemed familiar
triggered off the memories.
The years then rolled back
and I was there again
some forty years ago.
Faces flickered passed
gone now but never forgotten.
The good and bad times
rolled by in unison.
For a few moments
while that album was open
it held a mystic I’d never known
and left me wondering
where were the faces I knew then,
and where were they now.

I love the way thet you have penned this David. I've felt such emotions and sentimants myself. Looking through a photo album has a mystical effect. It isn't always uplifting and can often be sad. Old photos usually ask far more questions than they actually answer, but without memories where would we be. Thanks for sharing this nostalgic piece. Best Steve 10

How true; the names and faces, and sometimes a ghost from the past whispers or tiptoes by and you remember there was another world so far from this one that you couldn't even have imagined this one; and yet here it is, big as life. Nice trip, thanks.(smile)

'For a few moments while that album was open it held a mystic I’d never known and left me wondering where were the faces I knew then, and where were they now.' Albums are our memory keepers...I liked the last stanza very much. Thanks David..
