An Aeroplane's Jet Engines Poem by Elia Michael

An Aeroplane's Jet Engines

Rating: 3.5

Do you hear the sound of jet engines?
A comforting wall of monotonous sound
A drone in the ancient chants of Byzantines
In prayers to keep us from crashing to ground

Do you hear the sound of jet engines?
A constant muffled sound heard in the womb
A reassuring antidote for tensions
Like the first scent of your mother's perfume

Do you hear the sound of jet engines?
A loudly roaring presence in your ears
An anchor to help you read some magazines
And while away the time passing like years
