An Act Poem by Billie Lynn Minear

An Act

Frolicking in halcyon days of youth with onerous shades
Escaping through fumes of flowers as the concrete around us
Tries to devour the shapes of our heels.
Empty contact of body tissue
Trying to fill a consumed hole within
achieving the circus amusement.
But not much else
