Amy Part Two Poem by William Cavanagh

Amy Part Two

I dreamt of time at Kouchibouguac
Your mini white-haired thinker
Whirling up and down the beach
As Northumberland winds did screech

I see you skating with your brother
Upon an icy frozen pond, and
Now the ice has long since melted
And we’ve gone our separate ways

I woke up inside a complex-cave
In the rocky maze at Capadoccia
And saw a white haired German girl
And wished that she was you

I saw your sun-bleached hair
And the smile that you offered
As I walked upon the south Sahara
With the memories I have coffered

I’ve always sensed well to feel
When my welcome’s grown old
As I move about this world
In search of truth untold

Love Always, Dad
