Amid A Summer Heat Poem by Marcus McKinley

Amid A Summer Heat

Rating: 5.0

Strolling through, I with you
Blooming, colorful meadows.
Anxious sweat in palms.
Each breath you give
A will to live,
So fertile is your land.

Over the rivers mouth
Across the old wood bridge
Upon the banks,
Bare foot we ran.
Together unforgettable
This moment now,
Relived each time I hold your hand.

And all this time I just now realize
‘Twas not by chance that we did meet,
The conjecture of my heart rings true
I kneel, to gently wash your dirty feet

Peering into your summer eyes
Amid a summer heat
Professing my undying love for you,
You make my life complete.

======= I think Indian culture gives much value to feet…e.g. to god/goddess, seers sages…seniors we touch feet as salutation…well in olden days in China women used to wear iron shoe to keep feet small.. Indeed very sensuous part in case of women…here poetically nicely incorporated It is not needless to mention in whole world I think Indian women wear feet ornaments of myriad types what is perhaps matchless else where…indeed a great poetry… thanks for sharing Regards Ms. Nivedita UK 10/10 PS in Poem Hunter I’ve read Romance Point [series] you can try n ==========
